PTU kit now Free - and an update

Hi guys, it's Tyger here. It's now been almost 6 months since we lost our darling Gypsy and I can honestly say I still miss her everyday. It means so much to me and to her family that so many of her "fans" still stop by her blog to leave a comment. She had such a loyal following and it's truly heart warming to see you all keep her memory alive!

I as lucky enough to have been given the rights to all of Gypsy's digital kits and myself and Sarah (Gypsy's Daughter in Law) have been sharing her PTU kits with her fans sporadically. However now we've reach a decision about how to proceed.

Any of you who knew Gypsy will know that she poured her heart and soul into our forum The North Wing. It was on the cusp of our big plan to move to our own domain that we lost our fearless leader. However through strength of heart and generosity of our staff we managed to make that dream happen, and the result is the all new (well 6 month old ) North Wing Asylum HERE

So, I've selected 3 kits to keep as exclusives for inmates of the asylum and the remaining PTU kits will be placed in our store for sale with all profits going into the "pot" we use for site maintenence etc...

I never felt comfortable selling the kits for profit, but this way the money will go to benefit the online family she surrounded herself with, I'm confident her fans will understand this! The kits will be available in North Wing Scraps exclusively.

But... becasue you are all so darn awesome.. I have one last Freebie for you all..

Now many of you maybe were unaware that Gypsy wrote tutorials, mainly becasue she didn't brag on it as she thought they were no good. She was working on a tutorial site at the beginning of the year as part of our new Asylum. So I took it upon myslef to finish it for her. All the graphics and tuts are by Gypsy.. I just pulled them together.

When I realized that it uses one of Mom's scrapkits, I knew what todays download was going to be, plus you get the link to the tutorial. Send Me An Angel

I'm back with another one of Mom's scrapkits from her stores for you for free today. This is a kit that was made to honor one of Mom's favorite people on earth, her "darlin' MamaEv", who she always said was the only "real" angel she knew. She called her the AngelMama because of her kind heart and sweetness. I'm just beginning to know her, but Mom was a really good judge of people, so I knew I was going to come to love her AngelMama, and I already have.

Hi everyone, my name is Sarah. Eileen that you all knew as Gypsy was my Mother In Law. Tyger, her scrap partner, has given me permission to share Moms scraps from her stores with you. Now all I have to do is figure out which one to share first! I think I'll share the Country Ways kit because I remember her making this one and that it was one of her very favorites.

In Loving Memory

Gypsy sadly passed away on Saturday 16th January 2010.

She and her beloved husband were involved in a head on collosion. Gypsy was dead at the scene while her husband died shortly after during surgery. Their souls will find comfort that they are together, they would be lost if they were apart.

Gypsy was many things to many people, Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend, Matron, Agony Aunt, and so much more. She touched so many people much more than she ever knew.

I will direct her children to the messages of love and condolence left here. I know they will be appreciated. Gypsy did not have many people in her life outside of her online world, so you were all very important to her.

Her blog will remain as a memorial and I am currently seeking permission to share her creations with her followers. I know she'd have wanted people to enjoy them.

I for one am grateful that my life shone a little bit brighter having had her in my life.

When we are in need of comfort
We walk down memory lane,
There we see you smiling
We talk with you again,
And as we wander slowly back
We seem to hear you say
Don't grieve. don't cry, my family,
We'll meet again some day.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! I had my sons here together for the first time in ten years, so even though it was pretty low budget (that's putting it mildly, giggle) we've had a wonderful time. We even had a white Christmas...frost, not snow, but it was still lovely; maybe even more lovely, as there were no worries about slick, icy roads.

Somewhere over the last week I got tired of all of the bright holiday colours, and made this little kit that I call Soft. I gave it to my Cellmates at the North Wing in their Christmas stockings, but then I decided to do my blog over with it, too, yesterday. I had six emails this morning asking me what kit is was, pmsl, so I guess I'd better share it! As you can see, it says "North Wing Exclusive" on it...I usually make at least one kit per week for the forum...but it's been liberated without the benefit of a new preview. *giggle* I'm the one who's supposed to be posting here! I've had a barrel full of RW stuff, but I think I've managed to escape back to the digi-world that I love best....and since you've all been so good about my silence, I'm popping up a couple of special treats. First, I realize everyone is short on funds at the holidays, and this year might be tighter than usual for most, so I want to do my bit where I can, beginning with my PTU. For the remainder of the year, you can buy all of my kits and the two CU items I have at DigiFox Studio all in a bundle for only $10. That's nine kits that are normally $3.50 each, plus my CU townhouse window and door templates and the alpha. Next, and probably much more interesting, I have a little freebie for y'all today, not much, just a frame and a couple of lolly's that match the upcoming Christmas Lights blogtrain, which will appear in a couple of weeks. An Update on Gypsy

I just wanted to drop by and let all of Gypsy's followers here know that she has had to go into hospital for a few days after "overdoing" it on her birthday road trip!

As usual she is fretting over not being here to give you all goodies, so I'm sure you will be spolied rotten on her return, in the meantime I'm sure she'd like me to share with you that her newest PTU kit was released just the other day and It's a beauty!!! You can purchase it from all of her stores, which you will find at the top of the right hand sidebar. I know she has a matching freebie fot this kit which she hasn't yet shared with me so i can't give you that.. but now you know youhave a treat to look forward too!!! I'm home and healing nicely, thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers, they meant a lot to me! They made me hold still doing nothing for so long that I'm raring to go, and this blog is going to get busy in a hurry. I'm in the process of joining three stores, so there will be all kinds of new links and goodies to check out, but here's where the real fun comes in...to celebrate my store openings, I'm going to have a freebie a day for ten straight weekdays! That's two full weeks of freebies! Why all of the goodies? Well, for one thing, lol, to make up for all of the downtime my blog is going to have between now and then whilst I install blinkies and banners...and I think it's about time I changed my layout, too. Now where oh where can I get a good layout? Oh, yeah, that's another sweet treat! My fantastic friend Dee (aka NanaDee) has been working her tail off the entire time I've been lolling around in the hospital, putting the finishing touches on a new joint blog that is nothing but FTU blog layouts that the two of us (mostly her, pmsl) make! You'll find all of our PTU as well as our FTU kits showing up there as blog layouts, and just wait until you see them, Dee makes the sharpest backgrounds, omg, they're just wonderful. So keep your eyes peeled for that announcement, too, which may even come before the freebies, if I can't figure out the uploader for the stores, *giggle*

Sorry for the long silence, I had a bit of a medical issue to take care of (I have a new kidney, wheee!). I'm bored out of my mind, as I only am allowed up for short periods at the moment, and there's no internet in my room, which is starting to feel like a jail cell...nothing like my sparkly glittery Cell that I'm used to. Wah, huh? So I'm spending my time making goodies, and will have some nice new kits up soon, I promise.

But, at the moment, Nurse Ratchett is back to put me back in my room with my wonderful roomie (who snores when she's asleep and whines nonstop when she's awake, arrrrg). If you're inclined to pray for me, pray for my sanity, not my health, teehee! Love y'all, back asap....

To begin, I want to say thank you and give a big hug to all of you who leave some love when you download! I read and delight in every single one, at 4shared and in the Chat and comments boxes. Not only are they like little individual rays of sunshine to me, they are also very helpful in steering me towards making the kinds of kits that you all really want. For example, I'm working on another kitty kit, something I probably wouldn't have done, if not for all of the cat lover's comments on my Midsummer Night's Meow kit. So if you like something in particular, please don't hesitate to tell me, or to ask me in my chat box, or by e-mail.

I've been collecting amazing tags from my tag team and CT, and I'm struggling, between Doctors appointments and all of the extra work that comes with living on a big piece of land in summertime, to get a slideshow up to show them off. But I just had to rush in here to show these stunners that Suz, of Suz Creations (from my CT) and my sweet Mama Ev, and amazing Silkee from my tag team, have done with my new templates overnight!

The first two are from the very talented Suz of Suz Creations. She made this stunning Janesko with template #4. It has beautiful animation, which, of course, you can't see here. I'm hoping she writes a tutorial for it:

My first ever CT Call

Due to the rising cost of, well, everything, lol, I'm going to be adding pay to use kits to my blog, to help cover the cost of my freebies. Not to worry, there will always be three or four freebie kits each month, mimimum, that won't ever change! I hadn't made a CT call up to this point, as I had no incentives, heh heh. FTU Tutorial~I Love Purple

There are no outside filters used; this tutorial is written in Psp9

The font is Fontdinerdotcom Luvable, a FTU font, just Google it.

Open the template, duplicate and close the original. Delete the copyright layer.

Go to Image>Canvas size and set at 800x800. Yes, this is really big, but we'll resize later. We need room to work around this big template.

Open paper 2, copy. Click onto Back 1 on your template, Selections>Select All>Float>Defloat and paste your paper as a new layer. Selections>Invert and hit Delete on your keyboard. Now delete the layer Back 1.

Open Paper 1, copy. Click into Back 2 and repeat the steps above, pasting Paper 2, and then deleting the original template layer.

Click into the Doodle layer on your template and repeat the steps with the same paper.

Open Paper 10, and using these same steps, apply this paper to both of the Dots layers on the templates, and then remove the delete the original template layers.

Now open Bracketback 2, resize by 75%, paste as a new layer, and move this layer to the bottom. Go to Effects>Texture effects>Weave with these settings:

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, drag down to the layer above your bracketback. Making sure that your are clicked onto your tube layer, erase any bits that hang below the circles.

Copy and paste the wordart as a new layer and position at the top of your tag.

Resize and add elements of your choice from the kit, and any of the pretty greenery from Chingjp that you like.

Add the following drop shadow to all layers: -1, -1, 30, 3, black

and then to the tube add:-2,-2, 30, 3, black

Merge all layers, and then resize as you like. After resizing, add your copyright info and name, and save as a .png file.

Quickpages with my scraps

Isn't this adorable?

Angel of Angelflight Scraps has several quickpages on her blog made from my scraps (yes, including Meow!). I'm pretty tickled, as my scraps are made at 72dpi, tagger sized, and it never even occurred to me that they could be used for "real" scrap pages! I've also been told that peeps have been printing them and making cards and other projects. I'm amazed. And what have I been up to? Several fun things! I've assembled my first CT, wheeee, and I'll post in a couple of days to fill you all in who's who & what's what on that. You're gonna love this one, it's a summery theme with very bright colours, full of so many fun things, and....drumroll, please....there are going to be several tutorials to go with the completed kit. So many extra fun things to go with this kit, templates, masks, tutorials, all on the train, wheeeeee! And not a zillion stops to get them all, either.

Bad blogger, lol

Whoops! Sorry I haven't added anything in a bit, I've been kind of scattered. As you get to know me, you'll recognize this as a regularly scheduled event. My mojo kicks in, but it seldom has much direction. I think I have about twenty unfinished projects going at the moment, but I keep getting distracted by fun things. I spent a day last week, for instance, getting my lifelong (well, nearly) best friend Sam aquainted with the internet. She's always been too busy for it, but now she's got a tiny bit of time to play, so we set her up a blog, introduced her to forums, set up her messenger, etc. Now neither one of us will ever get anything done again. We live a couple of hours travel time apart, so we're probably going to melt our IM's for a bit!

I'll have a kit and a new tut up for you by the weekend. It's mostly finished, I've just got to get the previews done. Ugh, I loathe making previews!! But I'll do it, I promise. See you then!

FTU Tutorial~Colour Me Crazy

Two tubes of your choice from the same artist. I've used the elegant artwork of Jennifer Janesko for this tag. If you would like to use her work, please visit CILM to buy a licence.

Plugins: Xero porcelain free plugin, get it here: Xero Graphics

**Install your plugin first, before you open PSP. Then load your mask into your mask files.**

Open the template, copy, and close the original. Delete the copyright layer, and the background layer. On your toolbar, go to Image>Canvas size and change the settings to these:

Make sure the center button is pressed on Placement, and then click OK.

Open paper 16, copy it and resize the copy by 75%, so that it's 600x600. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Go to Layers>Load/SaveMask>LoadMaskFromDisk, and find the mask. Use the following settings:

click Load.

Go to your layer palette, and choose Merge>merge group. Drag this layer to the bottom on your Layers Palette.

Click onto the layer BigBar. On your toolbar, go to Selections>SelectAll>Float>Defloat. It will now have marching ants around it. Leave it, and open paper23, copy, close the original, and resize by 75%, just as you did with the other paper. Now click back onto your BigBar layer, and the copy and paste paper3 as a new layer. You will still see the marching ants through the paper. Now go back to Selections and click Invert. On your keyboard, hit delete, then go back to Selections and click Select None. Your paper will now be trimmed to fit your template layer perfectly.

Click on the layer SmallBar, and follow the same steps, using paper4.

Click on the layer MediumBar, and follow the same steps, using paper3.

Click into the layer Photo2, use paper24, and follow the same steps. Use the same paper to do layer Photo1 now.

Follow the same steps for layers Frame1 and Frame2, using paper23 again.

Click onto the layer Corner, and follow the same steps, using paper11.

Open hournal25, copy, close the original, and resize the copy by 10% and paste it as a new layer. Move this layer to the top, and use your Move tool to place to the left of your tag.

Click onto one of the Photo layers, the go to Selections>select all>float>defloat. Leave the ants marching, and copy and paste one of your tubes as a new layer. Place it as you like inside the frame, and then go back to Selections and click Invert, then your keyboard and hit delete, just as you did to add the papers. Now remember to go back to Selections>Select None. Repeat these steps for the other tube.

Now, starting from the bottom layer, hide all of the template layers, leaving only the raster layers you created. Add this dropshadow to every layer that is still showing:

-1, 1, 50, 5, black

Now add whatever elements you like to finish the tag, making a seperate layer for each element, and move them around to suit you. I used two of the stars and one bow, I wanted to keep it simple. Add the same dropshadow to your element layers.

Layer palette, Merge>merge visable. Now delete all of the hidden layers.

Go to Image>Resize, and resize by 75%. (Resize all layers ticked)

Now add your copyright info and your text, using the dropper to choose colors from the papers or your tubes. The font I used is Croobie, a FTU font, just Google it if you want it. Add your name, and add the dropshadow to both text layers. (Don't put a dropshadow on your copyright info) Merge visable one last time, and you're done! Ta dah!

The wonderful managers allowed me to run a little contest over at The Padded Cell asking folks to make a blinkie for my blog, as I'm absolutely awful at making tiny things look good. I'm just delighted with the results! All of the entries were really good, and picking a winner wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be, but I just fell in love with this design by Lady Disney, and so now I have a blinkie I can wear with pride. Thanks to all of the entrants, it was a lot of fun! And special thanks to Natalie, aka Lady Disney, mwah!

FTU Tutorial~Light and Airy

Supplies

A tube of your choice. I'm using the beautiful art of Caron Vinson. If you would like to use her art, you must purchase a licence at CILM.

plugin: Mura's Meister Copies (ftu, Google it)

Open a new canvas 600x600 transparent. You may floodfill this layer if you prefer to work against a background, and then remove this layer at the end if you want to save the file as a transparent image.

Open flower-glitter-4, copy and paste as a new layer. Duplicate this layer 3 times. Arrange the flowers in a semi-circle, like this:

Merge, merge visable, then go to Image>Mirror. If you don't like the way it looks, click Undo a couple of times and move the flowers around until you get the shape you like. Once you have it right, merge visable.

Open Flower-10, copy, and close the original. Resize the copy 10 percent. Paste on your tag as a new layer. Apply Mura's Meister Copies with the following settings:

Open GlitterEdge-Frame, copy and paste as a new layer. Use your Raster Deform tool to drag the top and bottom in and the sides out to create a rectangle. Once you're happy with the shape, drag this layer beneath the green flower layer.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resizing it if you need to. Open the Calla Lily of your choice, resize by 80 percent, and paste as a new layer. Move it to the right side. Open a matching bow, copy and paste as a new layer, and resize at 80 percent. Position it over the flower stems, and use the Raster Deform tool to rotate it slightly to the right, so that it looks like it's wrapped around the flowers.

Add elements of choice. I used Butterfly-1, and just pasted it on over and over again (each as a separate layer) and then resized and moved them around as I liked.

Go to Effects>3D Effects>Dropshadow and use these settings: -1, -1, 50, 5, black, and add a dropshadow to each of these layers. Merge visable. If you began with a colored background, hide it before you merge. If you want the tag smaller, crop and/or resize now. Make any sharpening or clarifying corrections now. Add your copyright info. Using any script-style font (I used Dominique, a PTU font) add your name. Convert this layer to raster, then go to Selections>SelectAll>Float>Defloat. Leave it floating (with the marching ants around your name) and add a new raster layer. Go to Selections>Modify>Expand, and depending on the size of your script, expand by 2 or 3. Make sure that you are clicked onto the new blank raster layer, and floodfill the area with a contrasting colour from your tube. Selections>Select none. Click back onto the sig layer, and add the same dropshadow. Save as a .png for a transparent background, or a .jpeg if you want a background.

This is a quick, easy tag.

Supplies:

Tube or image of choice. I used the gorgeous art of Suzanne Woolcott, which I have a licence to use. If you would like to use her images/tubes, please visit her site, Gorjuss Art, to purchase a licence.

Load the mask into your files.

Open a new transparent image, 1000x1000. Relax, we'll crop and resize at the end. Open paper 6, copy and paste as a new layer. Apply the mask to this layer, fit to canvas, source luminance and hide all mask ticked. Merge group. Add this drop shadow to the mask layer:

-1, -1, 50, 5, black

Open frame 2 and apply as a new layer. Resize to fit. Apply the same drop shadow.

Open frame 1 and apply as a new layer. Resize to suit, and add the same dropshadow.

Add the elements of your choice, each on their own layer, resized, and add the same dropshadow to each layer.

Add your tube or image as a new layer. If you are using the same image as I have, and would like the feet dangling outside the frames, simply duplicate your tube layer, and bring your new layer to the top of your layer pallette. (You can do this by dragging it to the top, or by right clicking on the layer and choosing "bring to top" from the drop down menu.) Now, making sure that you are on the top tube image layer, erase all of the image except the boots. I had to enlarge the image to huge proportions and erase one pixel at a time around one side of the boots, but it only takes a moment to make sure you have a clean image, and it really makes a difference in the result. Now add the dropshadow to both tube layers, then add this second shadow: 1, 1, 50, 5, black

Once you have your elements where you want them, open the wordart, and recolor to match your tube. Add the wordart as a new layer, and resize if you need to. Go to Selections>SelectAll>Float>Defloat . Leave the image floating, and go to Selections>Modify>Expand and expand by 2 pixels. Open a new layer. Go to your Materials pallette, click on the Foreground box and choose a color from the paper. On your new layer, use the Flood fill tool and to fill this layer with your chosen color. Go to Selections>Select none. Move this layer below the wordart. Using colors from your tube, add your name in a script style font. (I used Chopin Script, a FTU font, just Google to find it.) Go back to your materials pallette and change the Foreground box back to the color you used beneath the wordart, and follow the same steps to add the light layer below your name.

Crop the image, if needed, and then resize. Go to Enhance photo, and choose Clarify, set at 5.

Add your copyright and licence info, and enjoy your tag!

Sincere apologies for the Spring Clean preview not showing that it's a tagger's sized kit. Apparently the preview got picked up by, as an unhappy commenter succinctly phrased it, "real digital scrapbooking" freebies sites. All of my current kits are exclusively tagger sized, created in PaintShopPro and not printable size. I'm not saying they'll never be bigger, I'm just saying that's how it is now, and I'm truly sorry if anyone was disappointed by the mistake.
